The Bioregions of western Ecuador: The Chocoan forests and Equatorial Pacific Dry forests, geographical patterns and floristic composition. The seasonally phenology of native plants in Equatorial Pacific Dry forests. Horizontal precipitation as a driving force of microclimates, microhabitats, and local endemism. Taxonomic discoveries on native plants in the region. Forest fragmentation and the rediscovery of presumed extinct forests and species, the case of Gasteranthus extinctus (Gesneriaceae) and Nasa humboldtiana (Loasaceae).
